Hurricane Lamp as Anchor Light?

Many thanks for all the advice! I love the look of those "real" anchor lights, but they really are excessively expensive.

I found that "Kampa Firefly" one here:

TonyS - the firefly will probably work fine with your 2700 AAs won't it? I use rechargables all the time in standard products. Or have I misunderstood you?

Annoying that it takes 3 AA if you are going to use rechageables as chargers usually take 2 or 4 at a time.

yes, we got one of these of eBay. It is fantastic. I am not sure how far you can see it, but I have looked at it over a mile away and it seems very bright. It is amazing how effective the lens is. It last well over 12h and looks nice below when not in use! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
