Good luck; this one looks really ugly, much bigger than Charley and is bearing down on you. We in SW Florida are wondering which way Frances will go next, but we expect to have some impact on Friday.

morning arthur, isn't the weather deceptive!!! its great over here (andros) right now you would never guess the centre of frances is going to be adjacent to us by 1400 tomorrow 3 sept, two more bow lines on the boat this afternoon and then leave the boat to its own devices.....never seen so many houses boarded up,..or in such good time......let you know how things go.....keith

Hi Keith - Looks like we'll get tropical storm conditions here on Friday/Sat with lots of rain and high winds, so I'll add some more mooring lines this afternoon. This thing is 360 miles wide, with hurricane force winds out 80 miles from its centre. Hold on to your hat!

It looks like we may,..just, get away with it, it appears to have put a bit of a righthand curve in, in which case we will probably get 70-80 mph winds instead of the big stuff in the middle, we shall wait and see what happens tomorrow (friday).......keith

well, put the bow lines on right across the harbour 150 ft of them, put a rolling hitch on them and took the slack /stretch out with the landrover, i think she will be alright ..........time will tell......keith

revise the winds a touch,gusting75mph, boats fine, a tad rough on the reef, going to experience some surge but nothing dramatic..........keith

Pleased to know all is OK, Keith. We are just beginning to feel the winds from the outer bands, but only about 20kt. Expecting 40-50kt tonight and all day tomorrow. Removing anything from our patio which could fly.

You might want to look here. These pictures are being uploaded in more or less real time by a guy in Pembroke Pines, Broward County, just west of Ft Lauderdale for as long as the power and his nerve hold out.....

Tony - we have non-stop CNN covering several places on the E Coast of FL, as well as our local station giving squall warnings for the ones we are beginning to experience..

Well, the sun is shining here again and Frances is giving Atlanta lashing today. We had about 18 hours of F8-9 winds and driving rain, but we suffered no damage. However, the bayfront in Sarasota is littered with over 20 washed up (mostly) sailboats which had been anchored in the bay.
Now we are awaiting hurricane Ivan which is due to arrive at the weekend. That'll be no. 3 in about 6 weeks!!
