The prices for these yachts seem to vary by up to £5000-6000, especially between the 26 and 272 CCS. However I find it hard to see exactly why.
Obviously some have inboards others have in-well outboards (and I am guessing the inboards are usually always going to be cheaper). And then the rig appears to be different with standard genoas vs self tacking jib...

But do people think the price difference is justified? Is there a big difference performance-wise?
I am looking for something which can easily be sailed single-handily, does that mean I should only go the CCS?

Thanks,
Marc.

I think you will find the inboard to be more expensive in general terms.
Also Hunter had a wide range of fitting out options for the home builder, so quality of fit out varies a lot.
The Hunter boats all perform well for their intended function whether they are twin keel or fin.
I once sailed the 27 with the self tacking doodah, and was impressed, but leaves you a bit short of sail area in the light stuff. Tacking single handed is not really an issue given a bit of space and a thought out plan!

Overall I think they are very good boats to own.

i have the 272 twin keel.
difference between this and the 26 is the increased water length, and more crucially the ballast bulbs on the end of the keels which makes it less tender than the 26.
27 also has a spade rudder

really pleased with the boat and everyone comments on how good its performance is in the club racing.

i cant see why ccs is needed as the standard boats have all lines led to cockpit except reefing lines so are a doddle to handle.

i have the genoa version and they are easy to tack, as the foresail is still very small compared to most other boats and are the best set up for single handing ive come across.

prices are all too high in my opinion, and if you look around you will get a 272 for around 18000 -19000 with an inboard.

the boat i bought was advertised 2yrs ago at 24500 and i paid 18500

used to own a hunter delta 25 (from which hull the later 26/27 evolved) and one boat ago a 272 with self tacker-both sailed well but when we were searching for 272 looked at quite a few and big range of price/spec and quality which for us made narrowing down the choice to specific boats rather than specific models - easy to sail - easy to maintain - personal view is that the 272/3 looks much nicer than 26 but you pays your money etc , they all seem to hold their prices well if you buy carefully
