Hi,
I am looking at potentially purchasing a hunter 701. however there has not alot of information on the boat on the internet. Does anyone here know anything about the boats. I know that they are from the same drawing board as the achilles 24 and were produced at a similar time. do they have similar sea keeping qualities? or are there any design defects to lookout for? any info would be good.

Cheers

Very good boat - fast and seaworthy for its size.

I have never owned one but I have sailed one a couple of times, including some seriously windy weather (sailed to windward deep-reefed past a 35-footer that was hove to to ride out the weather). No instruments on board, but it was probably about F7. The boat handled the conditions beautifully. Pumping up the keel was hard work! The keel hydraulics will be getting old by now - might pay to look closely.

Designed by Oliver Lee ,very similar boat to the Anderson 22 .Quick and very seaworthy ,able to keep making progress when other little boats are struggling.

I owned a Hunter 701 for a couple of years, it was my starter boat and a great little boat at that. It had a solid fin keel. I would recommend this boat to anyone. If you want to know anything else let me know. Russell
