Hi, a friend is looking at Broom Ocean 42’s but we have come across an Ocean 42 built by Humber. I’m presuming that this was an Aquafibre hull fitted out by F Booker Marine in Barnsley.
Does anyone have any knowledge of them building this particular variant?
Was their build quality good?

Just for info, my little book mentions the following.....
Ocean 42.
C J Broom of Brundall built 36 Ocean 42 between 1978 and 1989.
Semi displacement hull with 2 x Volvo Diesels ranging from 200-300HP.
Speed 19 to 22 knots.
Some owners choose not to have the internal helm.
The interior layout varied over time.
Personal comment from boats have been to see, very solid boat, with decent access to mechanicals but design very much of the late sixties and rather spartan interior unless owners have remodelled a tad over last 40 years. Ok if you like green/brown/pink brocade and matching lampshades with tassels. :)

Fred Booker had an excellant reputation for the quality of his boats..
