Every winter I cut back the (blue) stripe on my transom to remove the blotchy UV fading and give it a coat of UV protecting wax polish.

I polish the boat about 3 times during the season with supposedly UV protecting marine polish and yet, every year the transom stripe (south facing on berth) is a blotchy faded wreck.

You can even see where water drops have acted like a lens it fades that quickly.

Am I neglecting to do something to prevent this? Is there some magic potion I can use?

I don't want to resort to paint, but at this time of year, the rear of the boat looks shi te. The sides are not particularly badly affected.

Thanks
