I think you miss understand it's the seacocks in the galley that are above the waterline, and the seacocks in the heads appear to be above the waterline the waste cock is below the waterline therefore no stains

Re: Is not a BlacK Art

This is an area in which I'm not experience so can't comment. What is needed is what we use in sales.

A simple bullet point list with few words, which point our right and wrong practices

Long posts tend to lose most people (we two have been guilty of that in many of our posts on vhf, ce marking etc etc, to the point that only a very few will read and inwardly digest, as manifest in many subsequent posts covering very simple old ground)

I'm currently thinking that we should cover a few of these old chestnuts with a few simple bullet point posts - not easy to bullet point complex issues, but is definitely do-able?

Re: Is not a BlacK Art

Here is a one bullet point list:

1. Do it correctly

As always my thinking is quite closely aligned with what you say (except that you have not corrected the spelling of philosophiam yet) /forums/images/icons/smile.gif. However, the problem seems to be that if one makes only a correct bullet point statement, another less informed forumite just shoots it down with another but incorrect bullet point. With a bit of fat about the post, at least those who do persevere have some information on which to make their choice.

'tis a problem I certainly agree.

Re: Is not a BlacK Art

the bullet points can always be refined as comments from knowledgeable persons contribute.

in the meantime, every time the question is repeated, we post an authoritative response, based on many peoples input over the years. FAQ of sorts. can let the shoot it down sorts square off against each other, but in the meantime build up a core source of correct material. Some subject of course are so contentious that no one will ever agree, but most have a common resolution, or several possible resolutions that all agree on?

Do-able?

You\'re maybe..

..referring to the heads sink & shower outlets which are on some Bavarias near on on the waterline. The seatoilet inlet and outlet are well below the waterline

Re: Is not a BlacK Art

There must be a solution. Another recent one was auto bilge pumps where a post from a high value 40 odd foot boat asked if auto ones were necessary and a bunch were adament that the answer was yes from their experience - unfortunately when pressed their experience was actually with very little (in comparison), old leaky boats without self draining cockpits so totally irrelevant to the original question.

Obviously, everyones say is valuable, and we can all be wrong, but peoples responses are worthless if they haven't a clue what they are talking about or their experiance, while relevant to their own situation, is totally irrelevant to the questioners.

There you are, another long post /forums/images/icons/smile.gif and probably inherited a few enemies too.

Off on Sunday to do some boaty work in Oz, will have a think about it and perhaps PM you when I get back.

Regards

John
