When you have a wooden boat (aka MAB), you will quickly learn the correct term isn't varnishing, it 'vanishing' cos the bl**dy stuff disappears in half a season. On a technical term, blokes don't 'hide' in their shed, apparently they 'shlrk' in their shed.
