but some US builders also measure there boats to waterline length so you might be right there too
in Europe is LOA or hull length

Agree. Have to see it for real. The San Lorenzo SD 92 is actually my favourite at that size. Not sure about the art deco styling, but love the well thought out layout.

BTW, they claim 35 knots for the Ruby!

I agree, the forward wheel house and long aft deck boats do appear longer for some reason, than say the mid mounted wheel house.
