Huffler motor sailers; looking for information

We have been looking at a Peter Nichols Huffler Motor Sailor. Quite a complex boat, many systems.

Some details perplex us, such as how to lower the mast (it is designed for this to be easy). The current owners don't know. We have approached the builder, but they declined to provide information (I guess because they didn't want to get involved in a discussion between seller and buyer).

Has anyone here any experience of these boats?
