HR 26 your thoughts please!

I maybe interested in an HR 26. I have seen the YM review but would like to hear anyone's thoughts on these vessels.

Doubt you will get any response. Boat was not sold in any numbers in the UK - and it was a long time ago! There is some information on the HR website www.hallberg-rassy.com and a link to the owners association in Sweden.
 
As a long-time HR owner (HR352), I'm going to suggest that you ignore the Hallberg-Rassy name, and view the yacht's features and specification as you would any other 26-footer. The reason for this is that the HR26 has none of the "traditional" HR features which are now almost revered. So no bold blue stripe, no teak deck, no glass windshield. It doesn't look like a Hallberg-Rassy in most people's eyes. As a result, I don't think it should attract a price premium, yet asking prices seem to.

A lot of that only came in with the Frers boats, and there are still plenty of HRs out there which pre-date these (some people would say that the Frers boats are not really HRs). The 26 is an Enderlein boat and inside, still looks very much like a HR.
A friend of ours brought a bunch over from Holland and reconditioned them, so there are a few around. I've not sailed one but I gather they sail like you would expect an Enderlein designed HR to.

Not really, but the comments in my original post are relevant. My reply about the facts was responding to pandroid's assertion that the key distinguishing features I mentioned as being missing (no bold blue stripe, no teak deck, no glass windshield) were mainly associated with the Frers-designed boats, which is untrue. Frers didn't start designing HR boats until 1988, but those key distinguishing features were all present on the Enderlein-designed 352, introduced a full 10 years earlier. That's why I suggested he should check his facts.
 
Brought one back to the UK from Stockholm and wasn't much impressed, but it had the HR blue stripe. It sailed ok but the accommodation isn't good, you would be better off with a Westerly Centaur / Pembroke or even a Tiger or something. There were no quarter berths either. The build quality appears good but was disappointed that the main bulkhead actually flexed when taking a bit of a pounding in the Dover Strait so much so that the screws fixing it to the GRP bonding actually sprung out, it hadn't been glassed in far enough (about 40mm) leaving slivers of teak about the place this was in a force 8 and a very lumpy sea.
