hp printer

Apologies for non boat query. My hp printer 1402 model has packed up indicating ink empty. I tried wiping the cartridges with a moist tissue with no result before replacing the cartridges with new refilled ones. The fault display still comes on. Any suggestions?

Any suggestions ::: Buy another one. My HP Printer wont print on Photo Paper. Went to Asda and bought a New one for £25 and it has 2 new ink cartriges. In the meantime on EBay I bought another one identical to the one which has gone wrong for £5 plus Postage of £10. Only because I have at least £40 worth of printer ink for my old one.
HP printer ink is so expensive that it would not suprise me if they start to sell it in Goldsmiths.
Although 20% is Vat which I cant claim back.
