As you guys know, I sold Coney Island to a decent chap from Devon, who took it there by sea via Wexford. All went well to Wexford, they did the trip in 6 hours including a one hour fuel stop to Pwllheli.

Following day the S/B engine would not start, so after some while, they motored over on one engine to Milford Haven. Then the Port engine circ pump went wobbly and leaked. They have now decamped to a hire car to come back and sort it out next weekend.

I do feel dreadful about this and I hope they sort it quickly!

I honestly didn't think CI was a dog :o

When I bought CI, it really was a dog - I paid a mint to get it up to scratch. Looking back, I now do think that Volvo play a big part in leisure marine unreliability. It ain't the base block that fails, its all the bits that Volvo fit. Still doesn't look like good form though!

My next boat, if I stay with power, will be my own diesel fitment with proper marinisation, not just some shanky leisure fitment that lasts a couple of years before letting its owner down when he least expects or needs it to
