How to test Metered Power leads

My power lead was reading twice the units actually used earlier in the year.

For £7 you can buy a tester to check you are not over paying.

I just need to work out how to run it in series (in line).

Connect shore power as usual. Turn off all appliances, incl batt charger. Connect one appliance via the checker. Compare readings.

Voila!

If they can make that for £7 then why does a Metermaid cost £85?

Yep agree. Conect 1 appliance with known ampege ie fan heater and work it out for free
