I would be grateful if someone can explain how to dismantle a Lewmar D1 Rope Clutch? or in this case a pair of clutches. It would appear to need prizing apart somehow as there are no external clamping screws/bolts.... I am baffled.

Indeed, there should be 2 machine screws and 2 captive nuts...ondoing these will release the assembly.

Are you sure there are no fixings at all??

Thanks for the responses.
My clutches are over 20yrs old and, unlike the photos on the web, have flush fitting end caps on the bolts. At first glance the caps look like part of the plastic moulding. There is no apparent way of removing them without destroying them. However as subsequent models don't have the caps no major issue.

So dig the caps out with a small screwdriver.
