Morning,
We have a Farymann diesel generator along with a Deep Sea Electronics model 710 which is supposedly used to start the generator.
On service of the generator the marina has said we will be unable to start the generator without getting a card reset. We have removed the DSE panel and can not see anywhere where a card would be inserted.
Can anyone shed any light on if a card required and if so where is it located? TIA.

We need a bit more clarity , Do you mean ( lost in translation?) the Printed Circuit Board , PCB ?
If so it’s in the control panel.
A quick Google of “ deep sea electronics model 710 “ reveals this below .
Its this what your engineer ( from your previous thread ) is saying is knackered and he calls it the “ card “ meaning the PCB ??

Theres no card or chip like phone sim or whatever with marine genys from my experience.

Previous owners said they had to return the pcb to turkey to be reset , does this make any sense as only cause for malfunction on our behalf is having to replace the battery , hence power was interrupted to pcb , Marina quote ‘302 euro for replacement universal card/ pcb ‘ !!! Confuscious he say between previous owners who said they never used generator ( yet admitted sending pcb to turkey for repair !!!!) and marina seeing £ signs we are being taken to the cleaners lol . Although we now have a team of new boat friends who are helping us through the maze of getting a 2nd hand boat ‘ ship shape ‘ :))

Does not sound that plausible. A pcb can go of course. An electric spike might cause a firmware corruption that would need Re flashing but I would just ask for more details and / or contact the manufacturer to ask

you seem to have other electrical issues Re your other post. Is there a wider issue that needs dealing with like a faulty regulator that is frying equipment ? There seems to be a common thread

I repair some printing machines , and if the back up battery is nor replaced in time , we have to send the card to be rebooted , i took it my self 5 min later and hundered quid light job done.

Call them.... They're in the UK....
Deep Sea Electronics Plc. Highfield House, Hunmanby Industrial Estate, North Yorkshire. YO14 0PH. ENGLAND Tel:+44 (0)1723 890099. Fax: +44 (0)1723 893303. Email: sales@deepseaplc.com Web: www.deepseaplc.com

The sales blurb (http://jubailibros.com/wp-content/uploads/DSE710-DSE720.pdf) says it can be user configured through the front panel or a PC interface. Maybe it's just lost the setting??

If you go here you can get the user manual and download config software. You need to register. See attached.
