how to remove gelcoat scuff

I managed to scuff the dark blue gelcoat coming out of ramsgate and a pontoon getting in the way. I have a 12 v polisher and have tried with t cut, but to no avail. I need a polishing compound but don't know which is best or how abrasive it needs to be.

This worked for me - Choose the grade of compound depending upon the severity of the "scuff". I called them before buying and and they were very helful.
