My B&G Wind instruments went on the blink last season so I’m taking them off the boat to see if they can be repaired.
I’ve been up the mast today (interesting experience on the hard using mast ladders) .... to test and take down the wind masthead unit, then removed the cockpit B&G Focus Windwatch unit, but I’m struggling to understand how to remove the B&G Focus direction unit (unlike the Windwatch unit I, cannot find the manual for this online).
Not wanting to damage the unit further...... does anybody if the wire out of the back pulls off, twists off or needs to be removed at the other (totally inaccessible in my case) B&G black box end. There was a screw on the back of wire (marked) which suggests it’s a type of socket but I’ve applied enough force and the tip of a screwdriver to help prove that theory might be wrong.
