How to Pump up Plastimo Fenders

Can anyone tell me what pump to use to pump up Plastimo fenders?

I have one of these which seems pretty useless.

I cant work out what all the little bits are for - they are too small to do anything!

I have always used a car tyre adaptor on a compressor, placed flush over the valve and pump in the air, always worked on any make of fender.

I have always used a car tyre adaptor on a compressor, placed flush over the valve and pump in the air, always worked on any make of fender.

It works just as well with a car foot pump, just press the connector over the valve on the fender. No adaptors required.

The Plastimo fenders have a screw-in stooper (and not a proper valve) that has a slot right across it. When you unscrew it to inflate you can't get a good seal and then when you take the pump off it goes down before you can screw the stopper in again. Hence the special adapter which is shaped to fit in so you can screw it in whilst maintaining the seal. Blooming stupid system.

Sorry to revive such an old thread, but has anyone found a Plastimo adaptor on eBay recently?
