Am I alone in preferring bananas that are actually ripe, like the untreated ones in the clip?

Bananas produce ethylene, which is a ripening agent. Keep them away from other fruit that you don't want to ripen. A good air flow will reduce the ripening effect they have on themselves, you can get banana hangers for this purpose.

Tip when buying: don't buy a single bunch, buy a few that are green and a few that are yellow.

Take the plastic off a day or two before when you are ready to eat them.
