How to get to the med?

I hope to spend 6 months in Barcelona next year and am looking at the alternatives for getting the boat there. It draws 1.8 metres and I believe this is too deep for the canals - does anyone know differently?
Also, has anyone experience of road haulage across France and lifting fees?
If possible I would like to avoid sailing around Gib and back up.

how about using a delivery company / skipper to sail it there for you?

I looked at delivery costs in the UK when I bought the boat and they seemed a very expensive option.

Just got a book on the canals - seems to quote the deepest ones as 1.78m - but dont forget that its fresh water so your boat will draw something like an extra 7cm.

Give lincoln marina a ring and ask for Mark he will give you a very competitive quote for delivery by road, he delivers them himself best of luck!
