With gale warnings right through to Sunday week.

Where do you get that from? Both windinder and windguru are talking of 5 to 6 ( ie 20 to 25 kn) which means gusts to 27kn. Going occasionally up to 34kn means gusting 8. Even the routinely miserable Met Office doesnt see a 10.

UGRIB seems to have up to 36 knots, so I could find a forecast that included F10 gusts plausible. And anyway, I learnt to mistrust secondary depressions a long time ago.

Must say I have been watching the weather today and I was going to move the boat from the cradle in to the marina this morning, when the wind speed was zero knots jersey met was forcast F7/8 with gusts to 50knts.

By lunch time Jersey met where saying F7/8, went down this afternoon to move her and the paid for forcast in the club house said no more than F8 so went and did jobs (got the seatalk working and giving wind to the autohelm and the yeoman talking to the GPS). But the 7pm forcast now says F7/8, F9 by midnight and 60 knot gusts and the boat will have just sat down in the cradle. Oh well decision made.........
