Although I own a plastic boat with a triangular mainsail, I do like traditional boats. Since visiting the Brest Festival in 2008 it's been an ambition to participate, and 2016 seems like the year to do it.
I can make some time either end of the festival dates so sail to and from, and spare some cash, but the only option coming up in web searches so far are berths on quite large vessels at commercial rates. This is fine as far as it goes, but are there any other ways? Owners needing (not very experienced) crew, trailed boats needing extra drivers for the tow, any other suggestions? Foretopman on a square rigger is out though - can't be doing with the heights ?

You may have already looked but the Old Gaffers Association website mentions 10 members signed up for Brest already ... they've probably got some means of contacting members on the site somewhere or a phone number.

I got my entry confirmed about a month ago. Still no idea whether I'm going to be able to go though. There's a section on the main website for registration though I've no idea how it works for run of the mill boats.
