How to find Boats for Sale, with "tax not paid / exluded", Flybridge 40-45 ft

I have read lots about buying and selling boats on this fine forum, and I know there is a lot of knowledge about several different markets and regions.

The boat will have to be imported to Norway, which would amount to 25% extra cost for import (norwegian vat), regardless of EU VAT/TAX already paid (or not).
Sometimes I see boats without tax/vat paid, but it is not available as a search criteria, so only random finds.

Does anyone have a "trick" for discovering more of these boats ? Perhaps regions where this is more common ? As the boat would eventually end up in Norway, Singapore is probably not a preferred region to search .

Is it correct to assume that the Channel Islands could be a region of interest, with this particular criteria ?
Maybe charter companies could sell without tax/vat, but would prefer privately owned.

All EU markets can freely "dsitribute" vat/tax paid boats (apparently), which makes it hard to see a good deal destroyed by the 25% extra cost.

We are looking for something around 40-45 feet, Princess or Fairline, or maybe a modern trawler, but the search method is the primary question.

Any ideas ?

Edit : New is not an option, unfortunately.

Just search by price and year, really it doesn't matter to you if tax has been paid, you have to pay tax on the purchase price.
The tax not paid boats should be cheaper, but if you get a better deal on a tax paid boat then that is the one to go for. (except you'll feel bad that tax was paid twice on it :-) )

Spot on.
I suppose the OP is asking on a purely theoretical basis - and in this sense his expectation is correct, of course.
But in the real used boats world, assuming "non-VAT paid = better deal" is just nonsense.

Have a look at the Jersey and Guernsey brokerages. Local boats will not have VAT (Jersey does have GST of 5%) paid on them. This does not guarantee 2nd hand prices are 'relatively cheaper' than a similar VAT paid vessel.

Plenty in the Med.

Just search the main sites, in general the cheaper ones will be tax not paid. Turkey is another one.

A good deal would not necessarily be defined by lowest price alone. When someone lists a "vat exluded" object, it wouldn't be a particularly good idea to list at a price comparative to "vat included" objects of the same status. It would probably be hard to sell.
Unless the overall condition is better with newer NAV package, new(er) engines or other expensive upgrades.

Double-taxation is rarely a good thing :-)

The most common brokerage pages that the search engine (mostly named 'Google') presents are www.yachtworld.com, theyachtmarket.com and www.boats24.com. Sometimes boats are listed on more obscure, or local, pages. Those pages would be nice to find.
