Like many I finally got to make use of the money sink that I call my boat today. Got there full of excitement at the prospect of a day of boating in nice weather and... oh no! Tried to switch on electrics and the battery was flat as a pancake. Ohhhh no! I have a spare battery at home (waiting to be installed as a permanent spare) so that will delay things an hour or so.

SWMBO pipes up... have you turned on the battery master?

Ugh! What! Ugh! The what...? Ah... the battery master... right... I was just getting to that /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Well I haven't played with her (the boat that is!) for 5 weeks now so it isn't surprising that I forget a thing or two is it? IS IT!!!

Doh! oh well... great day had by all so all is well again /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I left my work cellphone on the boat today, and was planning on working from home tomorrow. Now they have no contact with me so I have either to go all the way down to the boat to get it (defeats the object) or go into the office... doh!

Obviously you didn't trust Paul and I to keep your little issue with the O N O F F switch being in the open circuit position secret from the forum Paul! We wouldn't have let on .......... honest. Yes it was a lovely day - photos to follow later this evening hopefully /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

There are a few things like that on a boat Arny - just make sure you never forget the cooling water sea cocks (if indeed your boat has them)

[/ QUOTE ]

He doesn't have them, which is lucky as the battery switch is challenging enough for the poor fellow.

But as we are confessing here at the moment, I will relate my story.

Decided to get up before dawn to make sure I could leave marina before the tide dropped so that I could create a fish free zone.

Crept around the boat so's not to wake up other people.

Turned key to start engine. After five minutes of noisy starter motor noises, I realised I hadn't inserted kill cord in switch.

By now everyone was awake and looking through windows/portholes in time to see me magestically sail out of marina.
