Hi!

I use Jif (now Cif) and water, but not rubbing TOO hard, and thoroughly rinsing off each section as I finish it. My 1979 Avon still looks like new after all these years.

The yellow rubbing strake does require harder work but comes up bright and clean.

Hope this helps.

Good sailing!

There is a poster on Mobo forum who has a magic elixir for cleaning dirt called "muckfarters" - I kid you not - do a search for it, I have used it and it is superb.

3M Cittrus Cleaner, Scotch Brite Pad and 3M Vinyl Restorer.

This is a non abrasive way of cleaning the tubes and also the restorer works wonders, use the same for your cockpit cushions.

Plastic garden furniture cleaner....got mine from Lidl at 99p for 1 litre spray!!!Works a treat even removes fuel and oil stains. I then spray dinghy with a silicone lubricant spay designed for plastic and rubber seals etc on cars. The dinghy looks like new every year.

Mr Sheen general purpose cleaner worked great on my white RIB. Gentle wiping though!.
