It would be interesting to have a thread outlining lift-out, bottom clean and antifouling costs.

For me, 44' and GBP1,050 (in HK, so equivalent). I think I can do better, both with price and with effectiveness (have lots of growth after a year).

You doing any work /supply yourself ?

...or is yard doing the lot from bringing the boat from berth, lifting, cleaning, supplying antifoul, anodes and all manual labour including launch and back to berth?

how about

£150 for lift out/lift in and 10 days ashore,5.99 for set of small rollers from B&Q,some masking tape left over from last year and some A/F left in the bottom of a large drum from another boat.Lets call it £180.00.
Sorry forget to mention ....33ft.

£1 a tide on the scrubbing blocks. two hours to scrub her off then another 4 hours to get two coats of antifoul on. £50 on the antifoul (actually scrounged it for free this year and it would have been £115 for the good stuff :) ), £10 or so on brushes even charging my time at £150 quid a day that still only puts me a little over £200.

Ok I do have to be a member of my club to get access to the cheap blocks but my entire fees for the year + antifouling costs would come in at less than £1000.

So in some ways I could say that thrown in for my scrub off I get a whole years Mooring.....Looks up to whatever old seadog that is up there, looking down on me and thanks me lucky stars as there is no way I could have my boat otherwise.

Oh and really good antifoul has been as useless as the cheap stuff was last year.

In my case, it would be having someone else take her to be lifted, and then cleaned and painted.

Still interesting to hear about times and prices in doing parts or all yourself though.

For example, Kenspratt says two hours to scrub his boat down. I've just been quoted up to EIGHT days!

Part of the reason for posting this thread is that I was going to use someone new this year, but their price is double last year's!

Think I'll have to revert to plan A!

Eight days

Wow, Are they Scrubbing it with a toothbrush.

I am still fairly young and enthusiastic and don't mind getting stuck right into what is a horrible job. But even the old boys round the club get their 40 footers scrubbed in one tide.

I suppose you might be looking at eight days if they are removing the antifoul because of a big build up. But That is still on the extreme side.

The most time consuming bit is the details like props, shafts and P brackets etc. But in my experiance the bigger they are the easier it comes off as it is easier to work round the angles etc.

Was quoted GBP1,800 last week (hence my sudden interest in the topic).

Looked elsewhere and then received a quote for GBP800 and finally GBP450 (+230 for Peller Guard).

I paid £600 for my 31 ft boat, witout the lift (she was already out), so I guess circa 800-900 with the lift. Doesn't sound much off your quote size for size. I will definitely paint her myself on the next lift, as I was not improssed with the work as done.

Cost of lift, scrub & antifoul

Sealift in Cowes were quoting £100 to lift and pressure wash, £110 to hold overnight and £100 to apply my own a/f; anodes replaced free if supplied.
My local yard matched that.

I think that must have been last year as SeaLift are more than that now...depending on boat size of course. I paid ~£135 for them to pressure wash her bum, hand polish the prop to a great shine, and change an anode I supplied, in March this year (34 ft)

Nowt, unless I get a mate or two inveigled into helping - in which case it might cost me a few beers & a few days sailing in company. But then I simply park on a sandbank with a brush, bucket & some paint once every couple of years or so.

Kingston Marine Services had a mid season offer - £150 for lift block off and relaunch (4days max) Very helpful and friendly people. The also have a first class engineering workshop, if needed.
