If I was looking for road transport for a 30 foot motorboat of approx 170 miles, what sort of figure would I be looking at? I know there are many variables but I don't have a clue if it would be £200 or £2000. I am guessing somewhere in between, but roughly where?

Thanks

From where to where also affects the cost!! You may get someone doing an "empty" return trip if it is a common route.

Norfolk to the Thames recently for a 31 footer - £500. Plus £185 to load and £237 to crane off (this was the rip-off bit). Other enquiries produced similar quotes.

Last November we moved our 33ft FB about 150 miles - cost c£450 haulage + lifts. One thing we found when looking was to check the insurance details of your haulier to make sure it is sufficient.

Forgot to say, but was obviously clear from the average prices coming back.
Most will have a minimum charge of £400+ regardless of distance as the lorry will be in use all day.
