They were doing a special offer in Conwy last Friday. £90 a go, for half an hour wash.

We were in Holyhead at the time.

They now want £30 per metre. So about £330. I told them to stuff it.

Can you navigate up the River dee to fresh water and over night there ?

When we returned to Fresh water (River Ancholme) all the sea growth we accumulated over a season died within days and washed itself off.

PS

If your going to take a dump, best watch out for trip boats around chesterfield :D

Yep, might take a bit more than a day, but not long.

Anyway, I still think 330 quid is a rip off for half an hour in the sling.

Sounds like the locals get one rate and despite your attempts to be accepted by your bow sprint antics you are still seen as a Southerner and expected to contribute accordingly, have you at least attempted to communicate in the local dialect ?

I was tempted to buz round there. Been many times before. It rather defeats the object though, of saving fuel with a clean bum. Mind, I'd be a long time saving £330 and getting it done here.

Cowes sealift is brilliant - I had a package of a lift out and antifoul overnight, and two further lifts and scrubs for under £400 all in on my 25 footer. They're a great bunc of people too they make it really easy for the first timer. And - not too booked up - they gave me a date within the week for the overnight job.

Is this true - that sea growth will die off overnight in fresh water?

i find a week in fresh water normal kills 90% of Salt water growth.A good excuse for a trip up beyond your local lock.A week on the Thames is the best bet because no real problems for anything except the biggest flybridge boats until Windsor.
