I am hoping for a couple of days this summer when it doesn't rain so I can paint my boat.

Everything above the gunwale needs painting but I don't want to buy too much paint.

I calculate the total area is 38 sq meters. The original one pot paint is well attached and firm so I don't think I need primer. According to the Hempel paint manual I need two coats of Brilliant Enamel which cover 13 sq meters / litre. I will therefore need 6 litres.

Does this seen a reasonable amount?

Has anyone used this additive http://painterschoice.co.uk/owatrol_oil.htm ? It is necessary?

I would be a touch careful.
I painted a boat (topside) with Brilliant Enamel. They used to sell Yacht Enamel which I found to be a good, tough paint.
The Brilliant Enamel bruised very easily (dark blue). The Warden's boat bumped against me one day and left pale coloured abrasions which I managed to polish out.
It seems a rather soft paint to me. On a deck and coach roof I'd be very cautious about using it.
