I was just looking at Twister Kens' navtex post. I added that link to my favourites, and at 25 to the page I've got 250 on this computer.

How many favourites do you have?

Just like to know where I am in the statistic stakes. You know the kind of thing, have I got a bigger file than you?

Are you just talking about YM forum favourites or website favourites?

If only YM, then I'm very choosy and don't keep any old rubbish - probably only about 20 in 18 months!

If internet, couldn't begin to count.....

Wow, that's some list. I must admit I also have lists on three aging computers, but I did not transport them. I do occasionally have to ask them to raise steam to look up an old file, and have been tempted to revisit a site or two then, but generally not.

Well - as it happens that isnt in the list<g>, however it looks as though close to 1000 are related to various beta test program(me)s that I've been involved with over the years, and as most of the products have been released they could all be binned.

About 600 in 60 folders on this machine. It was a lot more, but a little while back found a program called AM-deadlink, which runs through your favourites and tells you which ones are no longer working, so I binned all the dead ones

1045 in 128 folders, going back about 7 years, I do clean them out occassionaly unlike my email.

I need to go out more.

288 in 41 folders covers boating and sailing links, including manufacturers sites etc. I also carry these on board on my laptop, been very useful when looking for info 100+ miles from home.

A healthy proportion are porn related, but I am not gonna tell nor share lol

your favourites will be in a file on your HD, for example

Win XP

c:\documents and settings\user\favourites

highlight favourites and right click, click properties et voila!

older windows

c:\windows\favourites

hope this helps, knowing this should also help you back them up, nothing worse than losing them when you have a HD crash or similar

Aha. 206 files. Thanks. Also for the advice about backing them up. I do copy my docs onto a discgo but had never thought of it for the browser favourites. THere's nothing worse - in computing terms - than that moment when the hard disk goes down! And I have two.
