I've logged 31 days sailing this year including a fortnight chartering, although I don't presently own a yacht!

Just wondered how many days sailing per year forum members manage?

The whole of July plus two five day weekends in September and some odd days, so about 45 days total on the "big" (26') boat. The weather was so bad that I didn't launch the wee Hunter 490 until one token weekend in September. Normally I'd expect to have 6 - 8 weekends on board her.

One trip of about 35 days, and probably 15 others, do about 50 days all in all. In my defence though, the weather was rubbish and I didn't have a main engine, just a 2.3 outboard....!

Disappointingly few this year. Did spend a week chartering in Greece which was fabulous.

when I took my ICC I asked the assessor his opinion on whether to buy a bigger boat or keep the one I have so I can afford to go chartering. His reply was, "Have you got a job? If you've got a job, your sailing is limited to two weeks annual leave and about 5 weekends." which is more or less true! So I've kept my little boat and am looking forward to a charter where you go sailing in just your shorts.

Not enough. Whole of August on the main boat in Italy/Greece plus a couple of long weekends actually sailing and 2 other trips out for maintenance.

It goes up and down like a yoyo, this year wasn't too bad, I haven't the figures to hand but it was in the order of 110 days on board and 450 sailing hours, covered about 1950nM's.
Previous 5 years were:
21days 105hrs 435mls
117days 500hrs 2181mls
61days 266hrs 1290mls
23days 125hrs 660mls
52days 225hrs 1065mls

Not as much this year, new jobs meant a truncated summer holiday and frankly we've given up on East Coast Easter holidays, no where is much fun in March! Somewhere between 50 and 60 days but some of those are anchored up at Studland or Butley Creek and just pottering in the dinghy. Looks like plans have moved forward for a year based in the Baltic in 2016, which in reality is going to be three months actually on the boat. Not sure if that's sustainable with the new jobs but fingers crossed! Maybe have to fit a small home office in one of the cabins and it means sorting out a pet passport. How many days actually sailing - i.e. moving along under sail? Not sure but I count a day anchored off a beach and doing nothing more than family swimming and reading a day 'sailing' :D

No idea in terms of days, I don't count or log them.

We had the shakedown cruise for a couple of days at the end of March, then all of the Easter long weekend. St Vaast over the May bank holiday, meant to be four days but ended up being five due to weather. Ten days down to Falmouth, two long weekends there (mum and dad used the boat more than I did while it was based there, retired people have the time...). Ten days back from Falmouth. Three days over the August bank holiday, including Col's forum meetup at Cowes and the Brambles cricket. A weekend with a bunch of non-sailors from work.

Those are the things that are in my calendar because they were planned in advance; in between there were plenty of weekend trips that I wouldn't have bothered putting in the diary, and the occasional midweek evening in the summer (although fewer than I used to with Kindred Spirit).

The year's not over yet; we have a family trip planned between Christmas and New Year, weather permitting. And my Dad wants me to take him on a night navex or two in January - he's decided to do his Coastal ticket but hasn't really done any night sailing before.

All of June on boat in Croatia, then last week of August and most of September again in Croatia so approx 62 nights on the boat, in that time though only logged 1200 miles.

I've spent about 45 days aboard my boat this year but most of this I've not been actually sailing her. I've been living aboard in harbour, most often my base at Whitehaven, or wherever I've sailed to, usually other Solway ports or the IOM. The time I spend passage making is quite a small proportion. Other than passage making I've done very little sailing mainly due to weather & sea state up here not being conducive to aimless pleasure sailing.

If I count as days those away from the marina where I actually spent the night too on board (weekends, long holidays etc) then it's 24 days. If I count as days my day sailing almost every weekend (besides those that I was on holiday) and some other afternoons then it's a lot more. In miles I loged around 1000 miles excluding again the day sailing.

Days that the boat actually moved and a log entry was made: 52, covering 1800 miles.
If I add the days on board that the boat did not move, somewhere around 70. Not bad in my book, considering we're both working fulltime which in my case means 1 weekend in 3.

Worst season in living memory! Day 1. April launch, 35 miles from hard standing to marina. Day 2, October haul out, 35 miles from marina to hard standing.

With depreciation (boat now 2 years old) and running costs, I really wouldn't like to work out a £ / M figure. Let's hope for an improvement next season.
