I've also found teabags in the fuel tank to be a useful method of preventing black soot coming from the exhaust at full throttle, especially the case with Yanmar 3GM.

Aha ... I've got a fuel filter so there! I use them to wipe my bottom, the pg tips in particular soothe and cool as well as clean.
A chap in our workshop used to dry them out with the compressed airline, until they got so weak they didn't colour thewater.
I guess it depends how weak your willing to drink it, or how tight you are!!!!
I'm still using the one they gave me when I joined the army in 66'. still got a bit of life left in it, but I dont use it for guests, they get the one I was issued with when I left the army!
