Im in the process of sorting out our suite of mooring warps and was wondering what mooring lines and of what lengths we actually need.

I'm thinking we need:
fore and aft lines @ 5m
2x springs @ 10m
2x rafting lines @ 10m

would that cover it for a 30ft er marina bashing in the solent?

I have a 23ft boat, my fore and aft are 10mtr, springs 15mtr and shore lines for rafting are 20 mtr.......covers most things. I've got 50 mtr of anchor chain/line. I prefer using that....

Depends on the length of the boat. The fore and aft sound OK but the springs need to be about 1.5 times loa and the rafting lines ( I assume you mean lines from you on the outside of a raft to the shore) maybe 2 times loa.

5m is very short if the cleats are in the wrong place, but still good lines to have for a lot of situations.

I would prefer 2 x 10M, 2 x 15M & 2 x 20M :)

That's what we have had for many years, originally boat length x 1, 1.5 and 2. It is many years since we berthed on a finger pontoon and we rarely berth alongside a quay, but we find those dimensions to cover all eventualities. Nowadays in the Med we also carry two 40 metre warps for taking ashore. Longer ones could be useful, some have as much as 100 metres, but we manage with ours.
