I've had mine 11 years in January. She is probably not the model that I would choose if I could start over again, but overall has given me more pleasure than problems, and is affordable. Bit like SMWBO really (luckily she doesn't read YBW).

According to the reminder from Porthcawl Insurance that landed on the mat 10 mins ago, one year less three weeks....

Fantastic boat though, I still smile just looking at it.

up to now, I seem to keep boats c. three years then sell them for the same sum (less labour), each one an evolution on the last-

I have two. A small world girdling International Folkboat and a caravan like Moody 346. I have had the IF for 15 years, and the Moody for 1 year.

I get a hard-on looking at my IF. I need a spew bucket looking at my Moody.

Some pieces of Tobin Bronze I have had since November 1978 (when I started building). Launched in Oct 1985; so other bits date from then. My youngest daughter, who first went sailing at 6 weeks old in 1986, has now finished university and has left home. SWMBO and I hope that we will see all three of the kids onboard in Greece next summer.

Wouldn't it be a more interesting thread if everyone said as well what they've got & comment on them too?

I've had my 1972 Vega two years almost now, from a living aboard point of view it's comfortable for just me, two full length wide settees in saloon for lounging & I can stand up in there, there's loads of storage for everything, clothes, food, loads of sails, tools, full dive kit, etc. It's very economical to run/maintain, tough, sails well, certainly capable of much more than I've actually done so far. Lovely little boat, though I do look at bigger boats & could have one if I wished but maybe in a few more years time..:)

Before that had a 1989 Jeanneau Sundream (29.5ft), only kept for a year, worked on & made a significant profit on. That was a fine enough boat & my first one but not as comfortable or practical as the Vega for me to live on...

That sounds like a good combination though, if I was going bigger would consider one of those Moody CCs for the nice big aft cabin with a walkthrough. If you need a spew bucket looking at your 346 take a look at the Bene 36cc from the back, it's a travesty...:o
