If you have a sheltered mooring or marina berth is there much point in laying up for 5 or 6 months as seems popular with many folk.Personally I like to get stuck in do the jobs and relaunch.
I know that the osmosis process is slowed down if your boat spends half the year ashore also the sails will wear out more quickly but at the end of the day boats are for using .
(I kept my stretched old sails for winter daysailing and put the good ones on at the start of the summer before we go further afield)
every day afloat makes the hard work and financial cost more worthwile .
Just to make anyone laid up ashore envious this pic was taken about 11am today.(Guess who got a digital camera from Santa.) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
