How long can I run my windlass for ?

Installing 80m, same size as b4 obviously, engine running using muffs.
Will be from a pallet 2m below the bow.
Just keep the button pressed and pull it up in one go ?

Check the windlass motor for heat ?

Should be ok.

As long as you move the boat so the winch is not pulling it it is not really working hard until the anchor starts to come up

Muffs = on the hard ?
The motor will have a thermal cut off
When it. Cools it will work again
Or it blown a fuse

Or it's it's specced to cope
Or it's weedy ?

Agree with J Rudge - they work harder @ sea grinding away at funny angles
So what may work 80 M from a crate in a ship yard -may not be the case & sea

I have to anchor in 200 ft occasionally, 200 ft rope, 200 ft 3/8th. chain 25 kg Rocna

I give it a rest with the chain half way up.

The motor is barely warm to the touch when it is all in.
