10' rubber dinghy(old & leaky) with yam 4hp fourstroke (super).

12' fibreglass cuddy boat (previous owner used the "papier mache" technique to repair it, so when you removed the drain plug, bits of old newspaper came out.

16' cabin boat (similar to orkney) '88 suzuki 8hp (horrid) then '88 seagull 6hp (OK 'til flywheel fell apart &fuel pump became intermittent) then new Yamaha F8 (super).

Re: How I got ear

Old 16ft speed boat that I borrowed but bloke did'nt want it back. So lent it some one else who did'nt bring it back.

25 Holidays on the Norfolk Broads.

8ft dinghy that could be rowed sailed or outboard. Did none of it well.

Bought a National Ospray racing dinghy. Did'nt know it was a racing boat. Only that it looked bigger for fitting two kids, Tutts and a large dog in!! Got a bit of a shock, Learning to sail it on Ullswater.

An American Imperial boat. Bit like a Binliner with equally bad build qualities. Needed a jig saw to service the V8 Petrol

A P33. At last starting down the right track.

Now my P35. Cant fault it apart from the V**V*'S!!

No one can force me to come here-----------

Ohh umm....nicked the old mans boat when I was a kid, then he realised and nicked it back and sold it.

After that it was a fletcher with a 115 hp straight six, damn fast and juicy,

Then she got preggo so we needed, well I did, the Tremlett.

Next, dont know yet, depends how much I can con the taxman.

OK, to hell with it. Unbolt it and we'll use it as an anchor!

Dad had a centre cockpit Chris Craft on Thames in 1950's

I bought little 16ft plywood thing in 1966, Johnson 6hp. Used on River Wey.
Then Dolphin 19 plywood with 18HP Crescent outboard.

45ft Narrow Boat with 16hp Petter diesel.

Freeman 22 kept at Radcot on the Thames.

Nearly bought an MG27 rag boat, did day skipper etc., but third child put an end to that.

10 years without a boat and bought current Fletcher 19 GTS in 1999, kept in Poole.

Quite like the look of Galia 777, or Camargue 44 if I win the lottery!

Just a few cables from Boulters Lock

While still at school played sailors in cadets and Grey Funnel Line let me play with their kit - even a submarine!
Then a well known oil company let me loose on their boats for ten years or so - nothing too big, only around 250 metres.
Moved to Hamble River and swallowed anchor. Bought 18' 6" Caprice (nice little classic raggie boat - mine had been transatlantic more than once !) and mooring in mudberth at Deacons. Loved singlehanding out to Hill Head and heaving to to sit in sun reading paper and drinking coffee.
Seem to remember that , with others, got involved in making a bit of a fuss so's Warsash Sailing Club got a bar...now look at 'em !
Moved up to Hurley 22 and new mud berth just below Bursledon Bridge and later Tomohawk 25 originally in Itchenor Reach but then piles at Hamble when reached top of waiting list (Bliss!)
Then life went skewift and finished up boatless for several years before walk down River Wey and watching boats round Papercourt Lock got the old rope-ends twitching again so Norman 32 river cruiser started sharing bank balance and mooring on River Wey led to exploring Thames. The swmbo turned into swbmtb and Princess 32 became current source of heartache and joy!

We have been boating for one year now:

August 2001 16ft Orkney Strikeliner
September 2001 20ft Orkney Orkadian
April 2002 Fairline Targa 29
September 2002 Fairline Targa 37

So we must like boating!

Or are we just mad?

"Hopefully that won't be too expensive to fix?"
