My kids are going to the Reading festival in August, My future boat can be reduced to about 4 meters above the water line could I get as far as Reading with it?

Tom

I reckon thats OK, but I'm sure somebody will post you a link with all the bridge headrooms on it in a few hours!

Needs a little more measuring, full tanks and a good crew by the sound of it.

It's quite cool watching the festival from the water though, we#re going to be doing it again!

We did this years ago on a hire boat - the best way to see the festival (sleeping on boat rather than tent).

Watch out if you're moored on the towpath at the bottom of the festival site at night, though. Nothing dangerous, but there's a lot of traffic as couples stroll by looking for somewhere private to copulate ...

And then there's the old hippy types who are adept at sniffing out a party

"Hey Moonchild! Come over here! These geezers are having a party on a boat! Is it alright if we come on, man?"

"Um, it's private, actually."

"Oh, private is it? The geezer says its 'private', Moonchild. OK man, I know when I'm not wanted. Got any drugs?"

"No, definitely not."

"Want some?"

Thanks all ,

Fuel tanks are empty at the moment the curennt owner too tight to fill up (1800 liters) so should that do the trick? also all my gadgets should do th trick?

Tom

There are three bridges you need to be particularly careful of, Windsor/Eton, Cookham Lock cut and to some extent Marlow, although the latter I am sure is actually higher than I've seen published anywhere.

I'm too tight to fill up if you're talking 1800 litres too.... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I hope it's Diesel though, and I hope it's filled BEFORE November /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Agree that Cookham will be the real problem. My recent trip to Bray in friends boat indicates that those quoted bridge heights are fairly accurate,we squeezed under Windsor by the thickness of a coat of paint. Can you remove the radar arch ?

Come and stay in a tent like the rest of us old hippies!!!!
Ahhh the latrines /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif, burgers /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif and beer /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.
