How do you use the auto-drain feature on the XM de-humidifier?

I have an XM Pro-Dry de-humidifier, and I've lost the manual.

The tank keeps filling up, and I remember that you can connect a pipe into the back and drain that way. However, do you have to do anything to stop it from filling the tank? To test it, I just unplugged the rubber bung and switched on, but the tank still started to fill up.

Can anyone tell me what to do please?

many thanks

I don't know if mine is the same make but I had this trouble until I found that there were two rubber bungs on the pipe at the back! The first was a cover type plug but there was another rubber plug that fits inside the pipe. Once removed all was well. BTW dehumidifiers on boats are fantastic. Everything is really dry, not even condensation on the insides of the windows when I have overnighted with a frost outside!

On mine (not XM, but sounds similar) I have to take the bung that I have removed from the outlet on the back, and insert it into the pipe that drains into the tank.

On mine, not XM, there is a blind plug on the tank at the bottom. You cut the end off and attach a pipe which drains the tank from it's normal position.

Now I know how to use the auto-drain feature on the XM de-humidifier!

Many thanks everyone.
