How do you test your seacocks?

Like most people, I'm sure, I just turn the handle and assume they are working properly.

However a reader sent in this seacock for us to have a look at.

No seriously, there's no innerds!

Close them! The bog stops working or the sink stops draining or I can't see out through the clear lid on the sea water strainer.

I test them by bonding them to the starter-motor positive. If they dissintegrate (the whole of the feckers, not just the shiny balls) then they're no demned good!
