I find as soon as the hook hits the sand... Im hankering after a nap....

How can I stop myself yawning off at anchor and spend more time siteseeing and enjoying the local offerings...instead of just getting a early night???

How do you stop yawning at any mention of Anchoring??

Y'know, when a post starts "What's the best modern anchor that isn't controversial" or "I want to swop my ROCNA for something that doesn't start arguments......"

At the first sign of an anchoring thread, I come over all weary. My eyelids droop and I stretch out in this reclining chair at my desk. Sometimes hours go by in gentle slumber.....

As a matter of minor interest, who got taught about anchors and anchoring on RYA practical courses? What did you learn and how useful was it?

:)

I find two dog leads secured to something solid like a park bench set at an angle of 90 degrees has a calming effect on the pooch and keeps him out of harms way from passing tourists who always seem to want to moor too close to us. He is then able to have a snooze before we are off exploring the delights of our destination.

You've clearly got to change your crew. I barely have the time to make an entry into the log before mine have the dinghy inflated and are demanding to know whether I'm coming to: the pub / the top of yonder fell / pick those tempting mussels / the chippy / or the local editon of some anachronistically named royal club.
