We livaboard our boat and when going into somewhere new it is often good to see other liveaboards for a chat.
To make it easier for us how do you spot a livaboard in a crowd or how do you spot a livaboards boat?

Stay-put liveaboards tend to have bikes, gas bottles, deckchairs etc on deck.

Blue-water liveaboards have several of: Wind generator, windvane steering, SSB aerial or backstay insulators, solar panels, bimini and additional awnings.

They come round, polish off your booze and bore you stiff telling you how rotten England is and how clever they are to have left.

Also they never refuse the offer of marmalade or HP sauce. :D

Hmmm, Glasson basin... Should be down there right now instead of work.

Satellite dish from a caravan is always a good telltale.

Well it wasn't us as we would have scrounged spare books, and eaten all your food.
Does anyone have a spare bottle or two of Heinz salad creme.

That's the difference between forums. They are obviously much more precious.

I think part of the difference is that "liveaboard" in the US seems to have connotations of not going anywhere, being effectively a houseboat. Those who live aboard their boats and travel prefer the term "cruiser".
