Hi,
I want to fit two midship bulwark fairleads(P&S). Should these be positioned facing the cleat, aft or f'wrd? and do you bed them on sikaflex...they will come with two screws to lock both faces together. Is it a matter of drilling, cutting and shaping with a file? Really appreciate any help
Thanks

Actual position doesn't matter, but it may help to consider the following:
If there is little space between the cleat and fairlead, I would place it aft or forward to avoid possible jamming.
If the cleat is to be used for the main spring for a pontoon (finger) berth, I would place the fairlead aft of the cleat if normally moored bows to the pontoon, and forward of the cleat if moored stern to the pontoon. That way the rope would suffer less chafe as the fairlead would give a 'fair lead'.

Not quite sure of the latter part of your post - do you mean the fairlead is 'split' and clamped over the bulwark? If you are able to post/e-mail a photo, I may be able to offer a further suggestion/opinion.

Good luck
