When they tack it must be like a tube train loading up. 'Mind the gap, let people off first please, pass right down the carriage.'

We ducked her the other week, as we passed hard by her transom I did ask whether they all knew each others names but they seemingly didn't hear me.

Crew performance when tacking was metranomic, it was if they had been cut and pasted from one side of the boat to the other on a PC. This would suggest that Ken's suggestion of a cricket match during delayed starts isn't on 'cause they all acted as a team....

My understanding is that the "charter" interior hasn't been installed yet, waiting until after the Fastnet, so if they do sleep onboard, its on the cabin sole.

I used to race on a big boat. Not quite that big but ...

when we were racing seriously we were 18 aboard. At mark roundings everyone was busy. Otherwise about 10 people had a lot of time on their hands.

When we raced on Thursday nights the owner would invite a few non-boaty friends aboard. So we had fewer racing crew and 4-6 passengers. We always designated two racing crew to "tack the passengers".
