Depends what you buy. You need to be a multimillionaire to buy international, and I dont reckon it is as good as some of the other mucher cheaper brands anyway!

I use 6 litres - abt £80

He's got one of them CAT things ... you know - 1 boat, double the cost! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

He'd be better off buying shares in the paint company for that... so hes going to spend ca. 1000-1200 dollars to paint his bottom.... how does he afford it???

Simple - on average we're much richer than you are /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Oh - and we have more sensibly sized boats /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: how do you afored it... 12 x 4ltr !!!

48 litres .... that is incredible amount for a yacht unless of good size !!

OK .... a) I don't antifoul ! so that answers that bit. b) When I did antifoul - I didn't slap on the amounts that paint company said - otherwise I'd be mortgaging the cheque-book .... c) I used 1 good coat with a second lighter over ....

25ft bilge keel boat - about 3 litres max - probably had a fair bit left over as well ...

Some would say - thats' why I have no faith in AF - didn't put on enough !! But maybe thats why I didn't waste money on large amounts - saw other boats putting on coat after coat and still having same results as me !!

Re: how do you afored it ... more than one coat ...

If Hard AF - then I would agree with you ...

If self-eroding - then technically no - as the 2 or 3 coats then continue cover on the boat as it erodes away.

You also have to bear in mind that biocides and active compononts leech out of the af - so if you have only one coat of any af - you risk having "dead" af left looking the colour etc. but in-effective.

I reckon most af nowadays is rubbish anyway - certainly not what it used to be ....
