How do i determine engine hp?

Hey everyone, I have a 21' inland waterways boat with a 1800cc Ford diesel engine. In a road car this would be about 115hp I believe, but when I mention that figure to insurance companies, they all seem to think it's an offshore power boat. How do I determine what it's hp in relation to a marine engine is?

Perkins 1.76 litre = 47HP @ 3600 rpm
Merc 1.76 litre = 40HP @ 3300 rpm

Ford 1.8D (nat aspir) = 40 HP @ 2800 rpm
