Couple of weeks ago was out on the water just off Clacton and was chatting on the radio to a mate - everything worked fine, last week after doing a bit of tidying up on the boat and fitting a fire extinguisher bracket went to use the radio and was told that the message was totally unreadable.
You guessed it - stuck a screw straight through the co-ax.
The question is this is it possible to cut the co-ax at the point where I stuck the screw through it and rejoin it together with something such as you would use if you were extending your TV aerial?

Dont use my suggested idea, stick with Doms!

If its any consolation, at home I drilled through a mains electric cable. The current arced across to the adjacent water pipe and melted a hole in it. Not only did I cut the wire, flood part of the house, I had to knock part of the wall down to repair the damage.

Hope this helps

DO NOT use a choccy block connector as has been suggested, use the proper job as Dom says, easy to find if not at chandlers, maplins will have them.
