After taking my boat out on its first trip, I changed the fuel tank to a wonderful new one from Tek-Tanks and installed a proper fuel return to the tank. In the past 2 weeks, I have had huge problems trying to get the air out of the system. Those in the know will remember that I have no previous mechanical experience, so all I knew for sure was that it shouldn't take this long. I tried everything including injecting diesel down the pipes with an insulin syringe!!
Yesterday, in a deep depression, I decided to take the whole lot apart. Rather than jack up the deck to get the tank out (thinking that with my luck I would push a hole in the hull), I cut a larger hole in the locker to get access to the inspection plate. I disconnected the filler and fuel return pipes. It occurred to me that the girl at Tek-Tanks had got the Feed and Vent pipes mixed up. Quick check, nope it wasn't that. Disconnected the hand pump from the fuel filter and still wasn't even getting fuel there so I traced the fuel feeder pipe back and ..................

Why did that fuel return pipe just move!!! /forums/images/icons/mad.gif/forums/images/icons/crazy.gif
