would like to continuous loop of braid on braid but be able to disassemble/ reassemble for storage quickly, thinking threaded ferrules but cant find anything suitable. Thickness of line is: first application about 6mm and second app is 10mm. Load on line is small as only transmitting small hand driven rotational force. Sewing or splicing would be way to fussy and time consuming.
Thanks
Keith

Hi Cagey, how you doing? I have the answer, sew on hook and loop of the type traditionally used on bra's, they are quite substantial and it will be interesting to research what's available! (serious suggestion by the way) Try Willian Gee in Dalston (google the website) an old fashioned haberdashers who supply the rag trade. The helpful ladies will supply your needs, they will probly post you a selection of samples free, cheers Jerry
that is, if you don't mind sewing them on, once and for all. To avoid sewing totally, they may stock something similar you can attach with a hammer, punch or press.
yes they do stock them, nickel or brass
hook and eye fasteners, lots on ebay

Hi Jerry been watching your adventures, your'e certainly getting super voyages. Neat lateral thinking could be the simple solution I'm looking for and supply chain could be fun.
Thanks K

Has to run around oversized sheave and then through cam cleats, but if I feather inner core and tape over join it may work, thanks

A good question. I have an endless 3mm line that adjust the vane angle on my Monitor windvane. I made it by stitching the ends of the line together. It doesn't look very neat but it works

That is also one the further uses I am looking at, did the same with my Monitor but line becomes brittle and hard and hoping to find supple simple idea, Jerrytugs idea seems good.

Butt the ends together, then stitch together. Then slide the shrink on Sleeving over the joint and apply appropriate heat.

Oops, forgot to mention the Sleeving goes on before you stitch the ends together.

rubbish idea, you want to be able to disassemble.......

Look for the clues! Mustn't be fussy or time consuming (in line splice) and needs to go through a sheave (show me the knot).
Show me the size of line & the size of sheave !!

why on earth would you need this anyway??
Haave not noticed if Op has said what it is for
If it is just for the curtains then the load will not be too much, a bit of tape & some CA glue on a tapered end
On the other hand , half way up the anchor rode & things might be different

How about splicing a soft eye in each end, then connecting the two together with a few turns of something like 1.5mm dyneema?
that should be able to run through blocks, and the dyneema thread should just about be OK to untie and re-lash each time?
Or maybe just taper down to a dyneema core, which will simply tie together and the knot with run through the fittings if the core is small enough?
Or make a soft shackle in small dyneema to join the eyes, if it would go through the fittings?
